Yes more so than any other friends I have because its were I fit in. Not because I am gay because I know what its like to be different. Its hard for people to understand the connection but for me its there. I would take 1 gay friend over 10 straight friends any day. I have never had a bad reaction from a gay person ever.

I missed my best friend Turbo, but I also loved having a dog. I couldn't replace Turbo, but I could get another dog. So after barely a month I did. If all this happened to me again I probably would, but the timing might be much longer next time. I'm still mourning Turbo while I go through Rufus' illness, however that will turn out. It's hard.

I would ask him if he writes every day and if he sees Rush as something he has to do as a job or for the fans or if he keeps on doing it because he truly enjoys it.

It would be tough for me to talk to him. I've met many famous people and never had a problem talking to them. Sting was a toughie. I could always engage Michael Hutchence in a conversation and my wife said "he always just rushes through [backstage]. You get him to stop." We worked for a record store chain in the 80s and got passes many times (never to Rush - I had to spend a night outside the hotel on the sidewalk for that one).

I met Geddy and Alex on the Power Windows tour, and that was when Alex became my favorite. Alex is genuinely funny, he talks with fans, he is the one who keeps Rush going. He produced the videos for "Rush in Rio" and "R30". Geddy is moody, short answers, hates pictures. I didn't get to meet Neil because he was out in the city at the time. I'm sure if I met him I'd be nervous and intimidated.

I've already gone halfway across the country by bike - the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Sprawl to Sturgis, SD. It would just take having both the time and money to go further.
