Whither LJ?

If, in the remote chance that all we know as Livejournal disappears like some anti-Putin political dissident, I have my LJ safely ensconced on my own hard drives. I read about the layoffs the other day, and expected a wildfire of commentary soon enough. Y'all didn't disappoint. ;)

Should LJ evaporate, I will probably continue on using my own site and tools if I feel the urge to keep blogging. Otherwise, it's been a great run. The thing I would miss the most is the interaction and commentary with all of you. However, I think we are pretty much going to hang around for a while.

Me too. Though I did get my lifetime when LJ was owned by SixApart, so they are the ones who took my money and ran.

Didnt you read a while back regarding the demographics of LJ? Those 13 year old girls were near or at the core of it all. I think some of those masquerading skewed the tally quite a bit. ;)

You were able to install LJ? I tried several times and I could not get all of the pieces parts to do a successful install. What is your setup?

I meant to say that I have my LJ saved onto my hard drive. I used LJArchive to save all entries and comments. What I do with all of it is yet to be determined.

hmmmm kinda makes you wonder what would happen if LJ did suddenly stop as I suspect many of us just assume it will be here as a means of comms. Without it I would have no contact details for most peeps I snoop n comment on!!!!
