Most people have seen the video of the two guys that raised a circus lion at their home then went to visit him after some years left in the wild. They were told and convinced that the lion would not remember them after the passage of time, but the animal and the amazing love-fest of a reunion spoke otherwise.

Let's try it again, shall we, but instead of a savanna, the venue here is a jungle, and replace the lion with a gorilla. Let's see what happens...

hmmm repies may give away the vid.... irrespective of the vid I think that surely everyone needs a gorilla of their own with which to roll around in the jungle with (snigger)

very cool, but for some strange reason, I'd trust a lion over a gorilla.

That's interesting, because I had a similar reaction. Do you have any idea where that comes from? (I have some thoughts on this, but I'll hold off so I don't bias your response.)

There's no pretense with a lion.

a gorilla will coo in your face right before ripping your arms off... they're spastic like that.

I'm waiting for the version with a grizzly bear. ;)

Even so - this and the earlier lion video show that animals (other than domesticated ones) do indeed bond with specific people. It's interesting that Kwibi had been noted to attack humans - but with his friend there, he seemed perfectly willing to tolerate other humans. Not to mention that his harem seemed willing to tolerate the humans as long as Kwibi was cool with it.

I think we have always underestimated and abused their intelligence. It really is us who mess it up mostly.

The video is cute, but I still trust cartoon gorillas more than I trust real ones!

Cartoon gorillas don't rip your arms out of their sockets!

This is so touching...a really wonderful reunion! I was expecting rough and tumble, not gentility - must have been an amazing experience for Aspinall.

I'm assuming he's from the Aspinall family in the UK who are famous for their animal protection activities - they have a nature reserve for endangered animals somewhere in rural England I think.

Thanks for sharing :)

Thanks for that... I've read about them since I was a child, so it was really nice to see that.
