During Tuesday's episode of Glee, among all the commercials for cell phones, cars, fast food and other silly sundries, an ad aired for Google Chrome (the web browser). It stood out not because it was an ad for a bit of software, but what can be done with it.

This is the first time I have seen the "It Gets Better" project hit mainstream television, outside of a talk show or something similar. It was touching and amazing to see it in this context. More ironic is the fact that Glee airs on the Fox network, where the dichotomy of rather progressive series programming stands in stark contrast to their idiotically right-leaning news and talk programming. Bravo to Google and Fox for bringing this commercial into the living room of millions.

I've had that same problem with Fox shows being so progressive, liberal, educated, and influential (i.e. simpsons) but their company causing such harm in "real" politics. If I watch glee, do I help fund Huckabee's campaign? It's tough.

Thanks for the chrome / Savage head's up.

It's a good ad but like vicar said by supporting anything Fox you inadvertently support these right wing neo nazis.

You make the key point about Fox ... How can a network's entertainment division be so forward thinking and its News Division be so backward? It's always seemed very odd to me, though I suppose it's about ratings, no matter the political take.

Great commercial! I wish they had these on the air 35 years ago!

Yeah, I just don't get the extreme dichotomy of Fox's programing policy. It's like the extreme dichotomy of the GOP: worship God and worship money!

And like the democrats don't! Both parties are caught on that same piece of fly paper. Vote for the Green Party next time around and be part of the future instead of the tired old past with the corporate backed democrat & republican machine . They are the same garbage in a different can!

No fair.....you made me cry........

That said, it was tears of joy and a reminder to me that when things are down, they do get better.

Hugs 'n' Tugs.
