Goin' South By Southwest

I have heard of the South by Southwest music and arts festival out of Austin many times, but was always curious as to who performs and what sort of music is played. Well, I guess I dont have to wonder any more, since it appears most of the performers have submitted their music to the festival website, and is available (via Bittorrent) as either a collection of 30-second samples or a whopping 2.6 gigabyte monster file containing complete songs. 750 of them.

This should be interesting. Or a big waste of bandwidth. I'm sure it will be a bit of both.

Given that I live in Austin, you'd think I would have gone to this by now. But alas, maybe next year. Even though SXSW is going to be next week, which is my Spring Break, plans have already been made and set.

Besides, all my friends are going to be elsewhere, so I'd feel odd going by myself. ;)
